Batmobile - Brand New Blisters (CD)
€11,00The Dutch cult formation BATMOBILE will release their newest album Brand New Blisters on Friday March 3, 2017. It’s their first full-length release since the album Welcome To Planet Cheese which came out in 1997. The release of the new record of these internationally recognized Psychobilly heroes will be celebrated during the fourth edition of the Scumbash Festival. This festival is hosted by the notorious barbers of the Rotterdam based barbershop Schorem. Since the first edition of Scumbash, Batmobile has been the festival’s Artist In Residence.
Brand New Blisters is the result of 6 months of hard work in the Shitpit Studio owned by Jeroen. The album is mastered by the illustrious Hay Zeelen, who also worked for Sepultura, Joe Jackson and Beth Hart to name a few. The great artwork has been made by Pieter M. Dorrenboom, since 1984 the band’s art designer and responsible for a.o. the band’s logo and most of their album covers. The album will be released on CD by Butler Records. Music on Vinyl will take care of the vinyl edition, the first pressing will be available on yellow vinyl.
Batmobile was founded in 1983 by Jeroen Haamers (vocals/guitar), Johnny Zuidhof (drums) and Eric Haamers (doublebass). After a few months of covering old rockabilly tunes, they decided to start writing their own material, leading to the release of their self titled debut album in 1985. This release led to considerable (inter)national recognition, leading to years of touring in the Benelux, Germany, England, France, Japan, Scandinavia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the USA.
The release of two Tribute to Batmobile albums on a Japanese record label, featuring cover versions of Batmobile songs German, Russian, Swedish, Hungarian, Dutch and American bands, shows the international success of the band. To this day, the band tours internationally and they recently were guests on Dutch national TV and Russian TV.

Poole Brian & The Tremeloes - Live At The BBC 1964-67 (2CD) (CD)
€10,00From the vaults of the BBC come Brian Poole & The Tremeloes’s live studio recordings for programmes such as Saturday Club, broadcast between 1964 and 1967. These sessions also include solo tracks by the Tremeloes and Brian Poole alike. Some of the songs in this package (such as ’It’s All Over Now Baby Blue’, ’Walking My Cat Named Dog’, ’Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever’ and ’Like A Rolling Stone’) were stage favourites or recorded especially for the BBC, having never been issued on disc by the band. Many of the tracks have a brief interview and introduction by DJs such as Brian Matthew. As far as BGO and the BBC are concerned, this is everything that is available – unless anyone out there knows otherwise! Extensive new notes by David Wells.

Jay Willie Blues Band - Hell On Wheels (CD)
€9,99DESCRIPTION
I love this record and the musicians who support the Jay Willie Blues Band. The band has been performing together for over a decade and includes some of New England’s most impressive performers. Vocalist Malorie Leogrande is a performing five-octave range vocalist who holds a MALS degree in Arts and Humanities from Wesleyan University. Drummer Bobby T Torello has been the driving force of bands featuring Michael Bolton, Jefferson Starship’s Grace Slick and the iconic bluesman Johnny Winter. He’s toured the globe sharing the stage with Aerosmith, Foreigner and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Recently I had the honor of performing with Bobby and former Winter bassist Jon Paris at BB Kings Club in New York City to pay a special tribute to the late Johnny Winter’s 72th birthday celebration. Bassist Steve Clarke has performed with two-time Grammy nominee Sherry Winston, The Coasters, The Drifters, Mary Wells, Sam & Dave, toured Europe with trumpeter Laco Deczi’s & Celula New York band and the Chris Tofield Blues Band. Vocalist and Guitarist Bob Callahan has shared the stage with prominent musicians including James Cotton, Matt Murphy, Colin Tilton, Andy Powell, and James Montgomery. Saxophonist Teddy Yakush can be seen regularly with many local bands performing varied genres of music. This is the fourth consecutive Jay Willie Blues Band album which features blues harmonica ace Jason Ricci. Jason has had some great career successes since our ZOHO previous release ”Johnny’s’ Juke Joint” (ZOHO ZM 201510). Most notably, Jason contributed to the Johnny Winter 2015 Grammy-winning Best Blues Album ”Step Back”. Jason also performed at the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band where he gave a slaying performance of ”Born In Chicago” along with Tom Morello on guitar and Zac Brown on vocals.

Alvin Dave - From An Old Guitar: Rare and Unreleased Recordings (CD)
€15,00Produced by Dave Alvin, From An Old Guitar: Rare and Unreleased Recordings, the 16-song collection offers a mix of acoustic blues and ballads to electric bar room blues to folk and country/rock. Featuring songs recorded over the years for his own records and tribute albums, “the majority were recorded for no other reason at all than the sheer kicks of going into a recording studio to make some joyous noise with musicians and singers that I love and admire,” offers Alvin.
The album includes songs written by Alvin as well songs written by Alvin’s dear friends like Peter Case, Bill Morrissey and Chris Smither, and heroes like Willie Dixon, Bob Dylan, Earl Hooker, Doug Sahm, Lil’ Hardin Armstrong, Marty Robbins and Bo Carter. There are also contributions from dearly departed comrades like Chris Gaffney, Amy Farris and Bobby Lloyd Hicks and from old Blasters pals like Gene Taylor along with various members of The Guilty Men/Women/Ones.
“If I had a few extra bucks in my pocket, I’d book a day in the studio, call some old (or new) friends, comrades and co-conspirators to join me and see what would happen,” notes Alvin, “no pressure, no expectations, just making music for the transcendental thrill of, well, making music.” Some of the brilliant accompanists joining Alvin in-studio include Greg Leisz, Cindy Cashdollar, Bob Glaub, Don Heffington, Christy McWilson, Danny Ott, Dale Spalding, and Cindy Wasserman.
“I consider myself extremely lucky to have had such a stellar collection of musicians to make some noise with and to say that I’m proud of the performances on this release would be a gigantic understatement,” adds Alvin. “And, yeah, of course I played beat up, old guitars on all the songs. I sincerely hope you enjoy these songs (and the musicians/singers bringing them to life). These recordings may be rare, unreleased or little heard but I’m very proud of them and they hold a very special, warm place in my heart. Just like my old guitars.”

€17,00Kim Wilson’s first solo recording in since 2017.
After 17 years, Kim Wilson (leader singer of the Fabulous Thunderbirds) has rejoined M.C. ”For the last 17 years, I have had fond memories of working with Mark Carpentieri at M. C. Records. Crockett Charley - Welcome To Hard Times (CD)
€11,00Welcome to Hard Times is perhaps even more potent proof of his literal heartbreak than the scar on his chest. After undergoing open heart surgery that saved his life, Charley says he considered calming down for ”just a minute” but once he recovered he did just the opposite. He states boldly with one eyebrow raised, ”I wanted to make an album that would change the entire conversation about country music.” That album is Welcome to Hard Times, an aptly-named collection that perfectly fits these troubled days even though it was made just before the pandemic hit. The music was shaped by his heart issues and producer Mark Neill’s desire to make ”a dark gothic country record.” Charley certainly knew how to deliver that. ”I think you can hear that deep, dark sadness in this record,” he says, ”but I think it’s the kind of darkness that will uplift others.”
