  • Presley Elvis - From Elvis In Memphis 2LP (Mobile Fidelity Ultradisc) (LP)

    199,00

Box Set, Limited Edition, 45 Rpm, Reissue, Remastered

MASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES AND LIMITED TO 10,000 NUMBERED COPIES

From Elvis in Memphis retains the distinction of being the most cohesive, passionate, mature, and emotionally invested record Elvis Presley ever made. Named one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time by Rolling Stone, the white-soul landmark features backing by ’The ’Memphis Boys’ and teems with rhythm-heavy country, gospel, R&B, and blues. Lauded for it’s natural, open sonics, the 1969 set now comes across with remarkable clarity, presence, and warmth courtesy of a premium restoration befitting a king. Mastered from the original master tapes, pressed on MoFi SuperVinyl at RTI, and strictly limited to 10,000 numbered copies, Mobile Fidelity’s UltraDisc One-Step 180g 45RPM 2LP box set of From Elvis in Memphis unearths the ravishing inner detail, sticky rhythms, and brilliant arrangements of Chips Moman’s inspired production. In short, this unparalleled reissue unlocks the spirit and gestalt of the recording and takes you inside American Sound Studio. It also brings you up close and personal with Presley’s singing – widely considered by many to represent the finest of his career – located dead-center amidst the instrumental hurricane. Equally impressive are the contributions of the aforementioned Boys, and how their Southern-brewed playing – a balance of leisure with swiftness, grandiosity with concision, freedom with control – dovetails with Presley’s vernacular. The lavish packaging and gorgeous presentation of the UD1S From Elvis in Memphis pressing befit it’s extremely select status. Housed in a deluxe box, it features special foil-stamped jackets and faithful-to-the-original graphics that illuminate the splendor of the recording. No expense has been spared. Aurally and visually, this UD1S reissue exists as a curatorial artifact meant to be preserved, pored over, touched, and examined. It is made for discerning listeners that prize sound quality and production, and who desire to fully immerse themselves in the art – and everything involved with the album, from the images to the finishes. Sharing much in common with the full, rich, orchestrated Stax Records sound, From Elvis in Memphis oozes with choice nuances and distinctive flourishes that on this ultra-hi-fi edition not only arise with previously unheard transparency and sharpness, but complement and serve the whole. Take the specific tonalities and blending of violas, cellos, and horns that communicate mood and serve as counterpoints. Or lively performances of the backing quintet, and how the piano and Hammond organ trace the lines of the melodies and Presley’s lead. Listen to the uplifting support provided by the cadre of backing vocalists (more than a dozen credited), unrivaled in Presley’s canon and a precursor to the approach he’d soon adopt in Las Vegas.

Presley Elvis - At The Movies (LP)

    12,50

    Taken from release notes:
Elvis Presley, the all time biggest music star needs little introduction. He was, of course, The King of Rock & Roll. Elvis was also a film star. He had already achieved his first big musical hits when he followed the path marked by his idols James Dean and Marlon Brando. Colonel Tom Parker pulled some strings and got him a screen test for Paramount Pictures. Next step was a contract with Hal Wallis and soon Elvis first film, Love Me Tender, was released. Throughout his career Elvis would appear in more than 30 movies and several TV shows. The present LP compiles some of the best tracks from the soundtracks of his early movies, those filmed between 1956 and 1960: Love Me Tender (1956), Loving You (1957), Jailhouse Rock (1957), King Creole (1958) and G.I. Blues (1960). This album features The King of Rock & Roll at his best in splendid musical productions that range from ballads to frantic rock and roll.

All tracks originally released in 1956 – 1960.

  • Presley Elvis - Classic Billboard Hits (180 gram) (LP)

    22,00

This release compiles all of Elvis Presley’s top 20 Billboard Hits during the years of 1956-1958, beginning with his first across-the-board chart hit “Heartbreak Hotel”.

These small band recordings are widely regarded as the finest work of the King’s career and among the greatest recordings in rock and roll history! After graduating from L.C. Humes high school in Memphis in 1953, Elvis visited the studios of the Memphis Recording Service (the home of Sam Phillips’ Sun Records) to record two tracks as a gift to his mom. Phillips was drawn to the emotional quality of Elvis’ voice and looking for a white singer with a black feel, he teamed Elvis up with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black. Elvis’ Sun recordings established the basic language of rock and marked the birth of rockabilly, which fused country with R&B. After that, His contract was then sold to RCA Records, where his career quickly took off. His last singles for Sun and first for RCA, “I Forgot to Remember to Forget”, rose all the way to #1 on the country charts.

Elvis first across-the-board hit was “Heartbreak Hotel”, which remained the number one Billboard pop single for eight weeks; hit the number one spot in the country charts, and even rose to number 5 on the R&B charts. From this point forward Elvis would become a regular figure atop the Billboard charts. The Billboard charts are music sales and airplay reports divided over several genres that are distributed to the general public by Billboard magazine. Billboard is considered the foremost international authority with respect to the rankings of song sales and airplay dating back to the magazine’s January 4, 1936 edition that contained its first “hit parade”.

  • Presley Elvis - Blue Hawaii (Original Master Recordings) 2LP (LP)

    99,00

NO NYT TÄYDELLISILLÄ SOUNDEILLA. GATEFOLD SLEEVE!

Elvis Presley’s Definitive Soundtrack Album Ranks Among His Career Bests: Triple-Platinum Blue Hawaii Showcases the Singer’s Panache, Diversity, and Joyfulness.

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes for Peerless Sound:
Mobile Fidelity Numbered, 180g Vinyl LP Plays with Newly Uncovered Detail, Depth, Air, and Tonality

1961 Effort Is the Second-Best-Selling Soundtrack of the Musical-Dominant ’60s: Includes the Timeless Standard ’Can’t Help Falling in Love’ and Island-Inspired Fare The old adage about Elvis Presley is that his soundtrack work never held a candle next to his studio albums. Though true for a majority of his film-related outings, the traditional notion is forever disproved by his Blue Hawaii set.

Originally released in 1961 in support of the film in which he starred, the triple-platinum LP spent nearly five months at the top of the Billboard album charts; outsold his two prior studio efforts; and ultimately, remains the second-best-selling soundtrack of the musical-dominant 1960s.

And now, it has received sonic treatment befitting rock royalty. Mastered from the original master tapes and numbered copies, Mobile Fidelity’s 180g Vinyl LP of Blue Hawaii transports listeners to both the carefree innocent escapism of the early ’60s and calming, breezy atmospherics of the famous Pacific Islands. If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to have Presley inhabit your room, this collectible reissue makes it happen via lifelike presence, clarity, immediacy, and transparency.

Recorded before the King started to burn out on soundtracks and go into a creative tailspin, Blue Hawaii presents him in tremendous voice. The newly uncovered layers of detail, body, emotionalism, and tonality on this 180g Vinyl LP bring that treasured element – as well as the brilliance of the arrangements and accompaniment – to light like never before. Presley’s warm crooning alone warrants unmitigated attention. It’s not for nothing that this record – replete with panache, whimsy, romance, and seriousness – forever altered the course of his career. Much like the film itself, the music on Blue Hawaii subscribes to a feel-good aesthetic. Presley plunges into a stylistic deep end with equal parts fearlessness and fun. He delves into early rock ’n’ roll (’Rock-A-Hula Baby’); touching balladry (’Hawaiian Wedding Song’); playful rumba (’Beach Boy Blues’); relaxing luaus (’Hawaiian Sunset’); and naturally, island-inspired fare (’Ku-U-I-Po’). It becomes immediately evident that the King is enjoying himself and committed to the mission. Is Blue Hawaii all serious art? No, but it was never intended to be. Rather, it serves as a showcase of Presley’s outgoing personality and chameleon-like ability – like that of Frank Sinatra – to inhabit different roles and entertain.
