No group enjoyed the consistency of hits they enjoyed or the enviable crossover success, placing hits on the R&B and pop charts with regularity. The group also enjoyed a far greater international fame than any other R&B vocal group of their era. This was of course achieved by a thorough embracing of pop music giving them an across the board appeal not seen since the heyday of The Ink Spots and The Mill Brothers.
