Presley Elvis - Sittin’ On Top Of The World (2CD) (Käytetty CD)
€50,00INCLUDING bonus gift: an exact copy of Elvis’ personal tortoise shell guitar pick
”By ElvisNews.com/ Lex, Sep 18, 2011: Gravel Road Music continues the That’s The Way It Is-series with what is Elvis’ best show, probably ever. Did we really need this show again, since BMG already released most of it?DesignMarvelous is about the only thing I can come up with. The guitar pick is a fun extra. I was told by a real collector that it differs just enough from the original to avoid mix-up. The liner notes are interesting, song by song, with additional information like original recording dates. The only minor is that even the white text is hard to read (with my reading glasses on), the darker text is almost impossible to read (at least for me). All together I can only say this release wears the mark of the dedication of real fans.ContentLike I said, BMG already released most of the show in their Special Edition 3CD-set. To make it fit they left some talking parts and the audience walk out. So here it is complete – again since International already did the job too, in two attempts. The opening isn’t my piece of cake, it sounds a bit messy and I am an Elvis fan, not an Imperials fan (but thank God it isn’t a comedian). For the Elvis part of the show I’ll make it easy and repeat what we wrote on the SE-box: More interesting for the fans is the second CD with the complete August 12th, 1970, midnight show. If you listen to it you can only conclude it’s probably one of the best shows Elvis ever gave. He is full of energy, giving it all and really firing up the band backing him up. ”Words” for instants sounds so great; Elvis really had much more control of his voice than in the known 1969 versions. ”You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'”, partly known but with a great reprise. We can name all 22 tracks as highlight but the entire thing is so great that you have to experience it yourself completely, believe us, when you close your eyes you really feel like being there! It only makes us longing for a boxset with all recorded concerts…I still stand with that part and I won’t more songs since they all deserve to be mentioned. This set brings a bit more compared to BMG’s one. To be honest, I think I’ll stick with the BMG version because the completeness isn’t worth the disc-swapping to (lazy) me. The sound quality isn’t really different, although this set seems to have a bit more on the high end.ConclusionA great release, especially for those that don’t have previous outings of the show. If only FTD started to put the same dedication in their releases.”

Presley Elvis - Fifth Time Around (Käytetty CD)
€30,00VIHDOINKIN KOKONAISENA JA UPEILLA ALKUPERÄISILLÄ SOUNDEILLA LEGENDAARINEN KONSERTTI v. 1974!
The legendary March 20th, 1974 Memphis, TN concert has been released on a number of occasions, beginning with RCA’s original 1974 LP edit with artificial applause mixed in. In 1994, a more complete, unofficial version was issued by Fort Baxter”. It was, however, a patchwork from several different sources incl. many tracks taken from the original RCA LP with overdubs. In 1997, ”Steamroller Blues” was issued in pristine quality on ”Platinum – A Life In Music”. Finally in 2004, BMG’s ”Follow That Dream” the Elvis collectors label reissued this show nearly complete, in a beautiful deluxe package. But was it the definitive release? For die-hard fans it wasn’t, and some viewed it as a letdown. Parts of the dialogues, introductions and even the false start of ”Help Me” were omitted, and many have complained about the sound and mixing. Clearly, too much compression and artificial reverb had been applied.
Well, at long last this legendary set is now truly complete, and without the audio choices made by FTD several years ago. Audionics worked with a DAT copy of an original, rough mix tape ”as recorded at the Coliseum”. Every bit was carefully enhanced in a renowned studio to achieve the best possible quality for your optimal listening pleasure. We hope that you enjoy the results.
No remixing. No noise reduction. No edits. No artificial reverb or other added effects. No heavy compression. Just a pure, raw and natural sound. The King back in his hometown Memphis, on the 20th anniversary of his first release ”That’s All Right Mama”. Elvis was in great form for this recording, and now, for the first time, you can enjoy the excellence of his performance that night in the best-ever sound!
This CD will be released in digipack accompanied by 20-page booklet with many photos from the concert and an interesting essay.
For many, this concert remains the definitive, mid-70s document of The Elvis Presley Show. And that’s all right. If you are not satisfied with previous releases of this show, don’t miss your chance to obtain this alternate version as provided by Audionics. A decision you will not regret! __________________________________Tracks 06-09, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 23 omitted from official 1974 RCA release. Track 03 edited on official 1974 RCA release. Tracks 16, 18 edited on official 2004 FTD release.”

Rezurex - Dance Of The Dead (Käytetty CD)
€10,00KOLMAS ALBUMI!
The Rezurex are the definitive romantic psychobilly band that first expanded the genre with the 2006 release of Beyond the Grave, which was followed by Psycho Radio in 2009, from which the title song has reached anthem proportions. The Rezurex have it all: a little bit of croon, a little bit of swoon, and a whole lot of monster mayhem. As they have evolved, they have become more polished while staying true to their signature sound, which appeals to a broad fan base not limited to aficionados of psycho, goth, punk, death rock, and classic horror movies. Daniel deLeon, founder and mastermind (an evil genius of sorts), once again has assembled a top-notch crew of musicians to make his macabre brand of 50’s and 80’s infused psycho a haunting reality. Manny Anzaldo returns on lead guitar, strumming it up with original bass player Jeff Roffredo (Tiger Army, Aggrolites) on the single Vampire Kiss”, a dark, sexy song harkening back to the golden age of rock’n’roll. Dance of the Dead also features Dusty Grave (Stellar Corpses) and the tres bon export from France, Fantomas (Astro Zombies, Kings of Nuthin’). New to the lineup are Steve Rejon on standup bass and Adam Guerrero, a recent graduate of Musicians Institute in Hollywood, on drums. The new rhythm section picks up where the last left off: rockin’ coffins with psychobilly, rockabilly, blues, and ska inspired songs. In addition to putting together Dance of the Dead, Daniel deLeon has been developing himself as an artist/performer/creator. His striking appearance has landed Daniel movie and TV appearances, most notably in True Blood and Day of the Dead 2: Contagium (2005). Daniel is currently developing and producing a Rezurex documentary and working on spooky little Dia de los Muertos themed art pieces which reflect both his Latino background and being a California native. For years, Daniel has made Hollywood his home and has such a keen interest in its sordid history that he was inspired to write ”Black Sunday”, a tribute to the brutally murdered beauty the Black Dahlia. Some try to dismiss the Rezurex because of the make-up and seemingly coy drive-in movie charm. The simple charm belies the fact that this is one of the hardest working bands in the scene. This is a band that has toured the world, earning it adoring fans of all ages from around the globe. Like a subculture Elvis, Daniel deLeon brings the girls to tears while still being able to tear into a wrecking pit inducing rhythm. The first two albums showcase diverse influences used to craft clever, catchy songs that connect the bygone era of pompadours and poodle skirts to mohawks and Martens. Dance of the Dead continues to further the precedent set by the first two: rockin’ rhythms that are easy to sing along to as you picture yourself strolling through a moonlit cemetery.”

Brains - Drunk Not Dead (Käytetty CD)
€20,00Todella loistava uusi psychobilly kiekko Kanadasta!
Canada’s most insanest, undeadest and rockingest psychobilly horror-punks are back with their latest, greatest album to date. Drunk Not Dead is an unholy collection of mind-bendingly ear-scorching tracks that grab you by the neck, stare straight into your eyes and dare you to fight back. The impossibly fast, tight rhythm section of Pat Kadaver (skins) and Colin The Dead (stand up bass) threaten to push the limits of sanity and safety to the very edge. Rene D La Muerte’s (vox/gretsch) haunting croon sends shivers up the spines of even the most jaded listener while his signature guitar stylings fuse the rockabilly sounds of the 50’s with the intensity of a chainsaw-wielding maniac in a pitch black room full of teenagers. The Brains continue to blur the lines between rockabilly, psycho, punk and rock n’ roll; kicking down genre barriers and demanding undying loyalty at every show they play. Incorporating elements from whatever the hell they feel like, The Brains concoct an irrestible brew of Motorhead-esque ferocity and sexed up latin swagger while adding a pinch of new-wave and a whole lot of booze-fueled punk rock mayhem. The Brains are as versatile as they are deadly. ”Pourquoi Me Laisser” is a poignant heart-wrencher sung entirely in French, while ”Gato Calavera” is a proper raging Spanish shout-out to one of the baddest-ass concert venues in Mexico. All in all, Drunk Not Dead is a balls to the wall heart-stopper of an album from one of the hardest working bands in the biz..If you see The Brains in your town, be sure to approach with extreme caution, buy them a beer and be prepared to get swept into their apocalyptic world of never-ending parties, insanity and pure sinfulness..because one thing’s for sure; The Brains are Drunk Not Dead!”

Spaghetti Eddie - Sundowner (Käytetty LP/12)
€40,00As Supersuckers frontman Eddie Spaghetti ventures further into his solo career, it’s hard not to notice that he’s learned a few lessons in record making from everyone’s favorite marijuana-addled country icon, Willie Nelson. Like the Red Headed Stranger, Eddie has eased into a vocal style on his solo albums that communicates genuine commitment to the material without sounding like he’s pushing himself too hard, and also like Willie, Eddie knows how to pick material that suits his personality when he doesn’t have a full batch of originals on hand. Sundowner, Spaghetti’s third solo LP, feels just a bit like one of the umpteen albums Willie Nelson made in the 1980s; it’s the work of a guy who happens to love singing and making records, and if the folks involved don’t sound like they’ve been sweating blood over the material, they also clearly had a fine time and their love of the songs and the process of making music is inescapable. Spaghetti doesn’t quite take his covers away from the folks who did the songs originally, but he has a real knack for making the tunes bend to the curvature of his personality, whether he’s partying in high style on ”Party Dolls and Wine,” offering some sobering relationship advice on ”If You Fall in Love,” imagining a grand future for himself on ”Cowboy,” or making like the King of the Highway on ”Girl on the Billboard.” Spaghetti’s voice sometimes sounds a little roadworn around the edges, but that adds more to these songs than it takes away, and he cuts an easygoing but sure-footed groove with his studio helpmates Metal Marty Chandler on guitar and Scott Churilla on drums. And while Spaghetti’s own ”Never Thought I Would” is a fine exercise in casual swagger, he really strikes gold on a remake on ”Marie,” which he originally recorded on 1995’s The Sacrilicious Sound of the Supersuckers; while its solemn tone seemed out of place on that album, the more low-key presentation here suits this cautionary tale very well. Willie Nelson has a way of sounding like he casually wandered into the studio and walked out with a good record a few days later, and Sundowner suggests Eddie Spaghetti is picking up on the same trick; it has both fun and casual authority in equal measures, and it would probably sound just as good as The Promiseland or A Horse Called Music over the course of a road trip.”

Various - Stickbuddy Jamboree (Delta Records) (CD)
€10,00A remarkable first CD reissue of the country music recorded by Delta Records of Jackson, Mississippi! 30 rare and rampant hillbilly, boogie, rockabilly and country sides recorded between 1953 and the late ’60s by Jimmie Ammons at his Delta Recording Studio – a converted garage next to a cow pasture! Contains 14 incredibly rare 78 rpm discs from the ’50s! Two rare 45s from the ’60s! Plus 8 unissued country and rockabilly sides from the ’50s! And 6 unissued tracks from the ’60s! Features the cream of the local country bands from Jackson, Mississippi including the Mississippi Melody Boys, the Country Cowboys, the Home Towners, Kay Kellum’s Dixie Ramblers, and Rick Richardson! Contains a rare first recording by Warner Mack, a rare last recording by Jimmy Swan, and 5 intriguing tracks by unidentified artists! The 52-page booklet by Martin Hawkins contains the first ever retrospective of the career of studio engineer and music promoter Jimmie Ammons, and the artists he issued on his Delta label and other labels! The booklet also contains many previously-unseen photographs! — It often seems like all the hillbilly music that could be reissued, has been. But then along comes this CD chock-full of unissued music from the Delta Recording Studio of Jackson, Mississippi. The exciting thing here is that the music is mostly by little-known performers and ’new’ to collectors despite being between fifty and sixty years old. This is really appealing stuff, too, chronicling the country music scene around Jackson in the 1950s and early 1960s. This is an important CD, at last filling a void in the story of Mississippi music and country music in general.

Lucky Tubb & The Modern Day Troubadours - Damn The Luck (Käytetty CD)
€10,00MUST hankinta kaikille Hank III-Wayne Hancock faneille!!!
If Ernest Tubb is the King of Honky Tonk music, then Lucky Tubb is surely the Prince” Choosing to carry out the legacy of his great-uncle, Lucky’s style is reminiscent to the raw and original country style of the earliest Nashville artists. Bottom line, Lucky Tubb is the real deal. If you like Hank Williams III, Wayne Hancock or just good old 1950s hillbilly music, Lucky Tubb is the right choice.”
