  • Mike Bell Cartel - Ain’t No High (That’s High Enough) / Like No Other (7 single/EP)

    10,00

The Mike Bell Cartel come from Helsinki, Finland and play a combination of different moods of 60’s garage, from jangling pop melodies to garage punk madness.
Rogue Records is very proud to release their second single, following their first 7” from 2021 on Beluga Records. Their debut album “The Cartel & I” was released in 2022 and received critical acclaim.
Ain’t No High (That’s High Enough) is straight-up garage punk, while Like No Other is leaning more to classic Byrds-style pop jangle.

  • Lord Rochester - Australian Sessions EP (7 single/EP)

Jotenkin tulee mieleen Southern Culture On The Skids…?

Four tracks inspired by a sojourn through the outback by his Lord and Lady Rochester both east and west on this vast continent, fine fayres of land and sea were sampled, music was heard and played, chirpy baristas chatted to, and ”mozzies” buzzed and whined before being eaten by dragonflies, who in turn were eaten by giant furry bats.
And all to the laugh of the kookaburra…

Recorded at Ravencraig Studios in Edinburgh Scotland wih Angus McPake, Spring 2023.
Written, performed and produced by Lord Rochester.
Lord Rochester / Russ Wilkins guitar, vocal and harp
Lady Muck / Saskia Holling bass, backing vocals
    Mike Goodwin, drums.
    Cover art by Lluis Fuzzhound

  • Lee Billy & The Rivieras - You Know / Will You Dance With Me (7 single/EP)

    8,00

This explosive slab of seven-inch plastic represents the first waxings by the soon-to-be-legendary Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, issued in minuscule quantity on the Hyland label in 1964.

Grab this platter…it’s the first time these tracks have been available since their original release! Mitch wails…Jim McCarty’s guitar stings…and ”The Bee’s” thundercrack drumming holds the whole wild show together…Billy Lee & The Rivieras were a runaway train, Motor City-style, right outta the shoot…Hold on!

    Soooo obscure and sooo cool!

  • Lisa Beat And The Liars - Sheena Is a Beat Rocker 7″ EP (7 single/EP)

    12,00

Lisa Beat and The Liars is an Italian band from Ancona. On the scene since 2016, they have released two 7″ over the last three years as “Lisa Beat e i Bugiardi”. This brand new record is their first with English lyrics and represents a shift towards a more international sound.

On the A side, the title track is a fun-filled Mersey Beat style rearrangement of one of the most popular Ramones’ song: “Sheena is a Punk Rocker” and you will hear about Sheena who has moved from NYC to 60s’ misty Liverpool to become a real Beat Rocker. But rather than going to the Discothèque À-Go-Go with their surfboards, here The Kids go to the Marquee Club in Soho with their Rickenbackers and perform some great swinging tunes!

On the B side “Italian Sun” is based on the 60s’ classic “California Sun” and it’s a tribute to the origin of the band: an invite to ride your Lambretta and spend your summer holidays traveling up and down the peninsula under the warm Italian sun. And yes, this song too has been recorded with that early Mersey Beat sound that is so inspiring for the band.

And because 3 is the perfect number, there is a bonus track: the “Liars” version of “Little Latin Lupe Lu”, released with their first 7″ and a perennial hit with show-goers everywhere.

  • Jim Jones All Stars - Gimme The Grease / I Want You (Any Way I Can) (7 single/EP)

    17,00

The explosive new project from garage rock godfather Jim Jones takes to the road to foul up your town! Jim Jones All Stars have announced details of their long-awaited, full-length UK and European tour in support of their new 7” single, ‘Gimme The Grease’, out now on Ako-Lite Records. This is the first physical bite of their forthcoming album, ‘Ain’t No Peril’, which is scheduled for an autumn release.

Returning to his natural environments of the stage and analogue studio, Jim Jones cements his position as the Grand Poo-Bah of red, raw rock’n’roll and the facilitator of illicit sonic thrills. Having spearheaded garage rock pioneers Thee Hypnotics, and international favourites The Jim Jones Revue, Jim is at a point in his career where he is drawing from past, present, and future. Joined by Jim Jones Revue members Gavin Jay (bass) and Elliot Mortimer (piano and keys), drummer Chris Ellul (The Heavy), veteran punk blues guitarist Carlton Mounsher (The Swamps), and the threeway tenor/baritone sax attack of Stuart Dace, Chuchi Malapersona and Tom Hodges, this is the filthy grind and sonic ramalama that you’ve all been waiting for!

Having made a midnight offering at Clarksdale, Mississippi’s legendary crossroads in the Deep South, ‘Gimme The Grease’ was recorded at Memphis Magnetic studios in Memphis, Tennessee – and it’s impossible not to feel that Southern alchemy oozing from this music.

“When you’re recording within spitting distance of the Mississippi river, there’s something about that heavy Memphis air that changes the way that you hear the groove and grind,” says Jim Jones. “’Gimme The Grease’ captures that feeling and bathes in that magic.”

    Music history..

Ready, Steady, Go! was the pre-eminent British music television show of the 1960s, and for many, it remains the most influential pop culture vehicle of any era. If that seems a bold claim to assert, it’s worth considering virtually all music television that has followed owes a debt to RSG!’s pioneering spirit. As well as presenting the top artists of the day, and giving vital early exposure to future stars, perhaps its most important feature was its club-like atmosphere, which removed the barrier separating artist and performer, giving RSG! an atmosphere of vibrance and immediacy other pop programmes lacked. In addition, the unprecedented move of handing the key role of a young, fashion-conscious Mod (Cathy MacGowan), who uncannily mirrored her audience, inadvertently gave birth to what later became known as “yoof TV”.

This collection of 10 vinyl singles – plus book with essay by Andy Neill – represents a selection of 20 songs by ten artists who performed on RSG! Between 1963 & 1966, including The Kinks, The Searchers, Cilla Black and Marvin Gaye. The diversity of the artists featured perfectly illustrates the panoply of styles the show covered, why it was so pioneering and why it is still so fondly regarded by musicians and fans alike.
