VIIMEISEN PÄÄLLE UPEA LIVE TALTIOINTI! The Blasters emerged from Los Angeles’ rock scene in the late 1970s. Led by brothers Phil and Dave Alvin, their contemporary twist on America’s not-so-distant past set new standards for American roots rock. Frequent shows with fellow Angelenos X helped earn the band legions of loyal fans whose numbers continue to grow. In August 2003, the original members reunited (once again) with both Alvin brothers intact. Notorious for their raucous stage show, this DVD is the long overdue debut of The Blasters on film. The 19-track set finds the band in top form, showcasing such band staples as Marie Marie,” ”Border Radio” and ”I’m Shaking.” Adding to the magic of the evening are guest spots by a few of the band’s idols: Sun Records recording artist Sonny Burgess, harpist Billy Boy Arnold, and surviving members from doo-wop legends The Calvanes and The Medallions. The Blasters Live! Going Home documents the band nearly 25 years after its formation. They’ve never sounded – or looked – better.Special FeaturesClassic Blasters – Performance footage from the early ’80sAuthentic 5.1 Surround Sound Audio MixPerformances by the current Blasters line-up Interviews with each of The Blasters and their special guestsFacts First DVD ever! Recorded live on August 13, 2003, at The Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California. Performance features both Alvin brothers together – live! The Blasters career spans 20 years, yielding 8 albums and additional solo albums from brothers Dave & Phil Alvin. Musical guests at the concert also appear on the DVD and include revered rockabilly guitarist Sonny Burgess, Chicago bluesman Billy Boy Arnold and a stellar backing vocal group comprised of members of California doo wop legends The Calvanes and The Medallions.”

”ORIGINAL BLASTERSIEN LIVE MATSKUA COMEBACK KEIKOILTA MAALISKUULTA 2002!!!

In March of this year, there was an event that many Blasters fans thought would never occur: the five original Blasters reunited for a tour of California. Phil Alvin, Dave Alvin, John Bazz, Bill Bateman, and Gene Taylor performed together for the first time in over 15 years, and the results were absolutely magical. They are presented here in TROUBLE BOUND. TROUBLE BOUND features new performances of Dave Alvin-penned Blasters favorites such as ”Marie Marie,” ”Long White Cadillac,” ”So Long Baby Goodbye,” and ”Red Rose.” It also contains a version of their first hit, Little Willie John’s ”I’m Shakin’;” a Dave Alvin song they recorded but seldom performed live, ”Common Man;” a scathing political commentary, the rollicking New Orleans-style ”Hollywood Bed;” and ”One Bad Stud,” a Leiber-Stoller song that the band performed in the movie Streets of Fire. Most notably, TROUBLE BOUND features performances of songs that appear on no other Blasters recordings. They cut loose on covers of blues and rockabilly obscurities including Johnny ”Guitar” Watson’s ”Too Tired,” Jr. Parker’s ”Cryin’ For My Baby,” Billy Boy Arnold’s ”I Wish You Would,” and Sonny Burgess’ ”Sadie’s Back In Town.” The group that started the roots-rock boom 22 years ago is back, and not just as good as they ever were-they are even better! TROUBLE BOUND proves that.

    About the Blasters reunion tour:

”[The show] was everything a Blasters fan could want: a no-nonsense race through the songbook, fueled by the spirit and intensity that made the Blasters…one of the defining sounds of Los Angeles rock.”

    L.A. Times

”They had few peers back in [1985], and after 90 steamingly executed minutes, it was clear Dave’s guitar playing has only improved in taste and forcefulness and Phil’s smoky voice remains tremendously overlooked in the rock annals.”

    Daily Variety

”The 90-minute set was the return of a hot rod that sounds more souped up than ever….Where Dave Alvin once tossed Chuck Berry-type riffs as grenades, now he’s an atomic bomb with reverberating blues fallout.”

    Hollywood Reporter

”Quite possibly the most exciting reunion by an L.A. band to take place in recent years….We were reminded of the full magnitude of their riveting charisma when the band hit the stage…”

    L.A. New Times

”The current, brief reunion of the original Blasters lineup is clearly an historic event — of course, the band itself always was a living, breathing sweating museum of roots rock….There were no signs of must or rust — the set absolutely crackled.
