In the past, Decca had signed virtually all the leading country and western dance bands.
Decca was the first company to present Western Dance Music in all its original power and authentic sound, and it is no exaggeration to say that what began as local entertainment became a national trend.
Decca made contracts with Bob Wills, Spade Cooley, Milton Brown and Adolph Hofner, who had the best bands at the time. Among the younger ones who had attracted a large following were Grady Maritin, Billy Gray and Tex Williams with their newer western swing bands, all of whom were on Decca’s roster.
This collection of old hands and the newer leaders in the field made for a wonderful mix. Together they presented a rousing ”Country and Western Dance-O-Rama,” a tune they presented wherever their bands were at the forefront. Sleazy Records proudly presents this reissue of the seven original 10″ LPs released on this series in 1955, all together in a beautiful deluxe package with old record book.
