Some of the original 25cm LPs, extremely hard to find today, were released in the 1950s in Japan and – as in this case – South Africa. There, music fans liked the smaller and slimmed down format simply because of the cheaper prices compared to a regular 12″LP.
One of the rarest releases of those days is this version of the legendary ’Johnny Burnette & The Rock ’n’ Roll Trio’ LP, which was released worldwide in 1956 as one of the first and still best rockabilly LPs in history. The South African cover shows a pair of dancers instead of the otherwise depicted trio – why they thought they could achieve greater success with this motif in the south of Africa is no longer discernible.

We have reproduced the rare original cover art, carefully remastered the recordings and had our 10inch edition, limited to 500 copies, pressed on high-quality color vinyl.
