This an excellent overview of British female recording artists of the 50’s.All the names you would expect are included-Alma,Petula,Eve Boswell,Joan Regan and more.As it’s a 4 CD set there’s only space for 3 or 4 hits from these bigger names – if you want all their hits then go buy an individual album!.It also features a number of singers who only managed just one or two hits such as Barbara Lyons and Edna Savage.The sound quality is excellent.The enclosed booklet is very informative and has lots of photos.Definately value for money. Like Acrobat’s British Hit Parade series the tracks are out of copyright-so there’s nothing from the last couple of years of the fifties,but they did squeeze in Shirley Bassey’s earliest hits -so I can’t see any significant names missing.
