Various - Roots Of Muddy Waters (CD)
€10,00When Muddy boarded the Greyhound for Chicago he brought with him a music that would change the face of music forever.
Muddy was heavily influenced by the Delta greats and his first recordings, for the Library of Congress illustrate just how important these songs were to his sound. He went on to develop these basic formed blues numbers into the upbeat urban Chicago sound that everybody knows and loves to this day. It was his versions of the early blues standards that went on to inspire the likes of Jagger / Richards, Eric Clapton and many more.

Various - Roots Of Canned Heat (CD)
€10,00”Canned Heat were one of the most successful ’white’ blues bands of the 1960’s, especially in the US, although most people will be familiar with their two biggest hits ’On The Road Again’ and ’Let’s Stick Together’.
They were led by Alan Wilson and Bob Hite who were both fervent collectors of old blues material – Wilson was responsible for the rediscovery of Son House in 1965. Listening to Wilson’s vocal you can hear the falsetto style of singing that was so unique to Delta artists like Skip James and Tommy Johnson. Johnson was obviously a firm favourite of the band; their name came from a Johnson song and their biggest hit ’On The Road Again’ was derived from the classic ’Big Road Blues’.”
