Blake Tommy - Koolit EP (7 single/EP)
€10,00The name of Tommy Blake is inevitably associated in the history of rockabilly by the two singles he recorded for Sun Records, with songs like Flat Foot Sam and Sweetie Pie, although in the scarce 12 months that he remained with the company he recorded about 15 songs that would take more than 25 years to get out of the can. But before and after Sun Tommy also recorded good tracks, like the ones on this EP.
Koolit, placed the side one of his very first single, was released on Buddy Records in 1956, being a great example of raw and gutted rockabilly, the same style that we find in $ F-olding Money $, released by Recco just a year after leaving Sun. The flip side opens with Cool Alligator, a wild and frantic cut that was recorded as acetate in 1958 and would remain unreleased until the mid-1980s. We complete the selection with the instrumental Mister Hoody, from his only session for RCA shortly before joining Sun, and where Carl Bailey Adams, regular guitarist of his band The Rhythm Rebels, really hits the bell.

Gibson Don - Tell It Like It Is EP (7 single/EP)
€10,00Don Gibson arrived at Nashville’s music premier league a little bit late. Born in Shelby, North Caroline in 1928, it wasn’t until thirty years later, in 1958, that he achieved his well-deserved recognition as stylist and songwriter with his big hit Oh Lonesome Me.
The fact is that Don was an extremely complete musician, good singer and guitarist, but it would be in his role as a composer where he would stand but especially. being sometimes compared to Hank Williams himself.
In this EP four of his compositions are collected for the first time at 45 rpm. TELL IT LIKE IT IS and WHO CARES FOR ME are two great songs that remained unreleased until the early 80’s.
Side B contains two alternate takes of Don’s well known late 50’s songs, SWEET SWEET GIRL, also covered by Warren Smith at Sun, and the fabulous DON´T TELL ME YOUR TROUBLES. Both different enough to the official takes to deserve this 45 rpm release.

Hickey Ersel - The Solid Beat Of EP (7 single/EP)
€10,00Ersel Hickey’s solid sound comes mainly from the excellent production that Epic Records reserved for all of his sessions. Backed by the guitar master Al Caiola or by an entire orchestra, Ersel sounded like few others, resulting in a masterful melting of rock’n’roll and pop that sometimes reminds what few years later would be well known as the sound of British rock’n’roll.
In this EP you’ll find four good examples of it, highlighting the incredible SHAME ON ME that sadly was not released back in its day, remaining almost 30 years in a can until the mid-80’s.
An amazing record that aims to achieve deserved recognition for the almost forgotten Ersel Hickey’s solid beat.

Fernandez Enma - Prado! / Manny Machine (7 single/EP)
€10,00Info:
With Prado!, Fernández displays an elegant and fine work where he has brought the latin influences one step beyond. Blow by blow, the enfant terrible of piano breaks into the field of mambo with a wink to the leading figures of the genre as Pérez Prado, Bebo Valdés or Machito.
On the first cut —which entitles the EP— Prado! Fernández’ hands are taking over. So that they steal the show over the voice, as the piano becomes the core of this superb instro in the style of the mighty big bands of the 40s, 50s and 60s.
B-Side is reserved to the second track. A reminder to stand up and dance where Emma Fernández’ voice takes action as a narrator that invite us to deep-plunge ourselves on the story of Manny Machine.
The perfect combination between percussion, horns and the unrivalled piano style of Enma Fernández will floods us with a distinctive taste of mambo that searches the growht of complicity upon the audience and the classic atmosphere of the mid-60s ballrooms.Once again Fernández gives birth to Prado! surrounding himself with renowned and virtuous musicians on percussion, horns… that shape together fitting one to another with the talent and energy on every live performance of this piano player.
