  • Various - Doop-a-Go-Go Party LP + CD (LP)

    23,00

The new vinyl rallying cry intoned by El Vidocq!!!

Following in the footsteps of the ‘Voices Super Sound’ compilation, our hirsute DJ continues his exploration of melodious voices, his unearthing of out-of-the-ordinary harmonies, his tracking down of otherworldly choruses and choirs… A vocal theme that, coupled with the diabolical energy of vintage Rhythm’n’Blues and Black Rock’n’Roll, coyly winks at (without marrying) Gospel or even Doo-Wop… Deliciously malicious, thrillingly enthusiastic… and though several voices once again sing as one, the overall feeling here is somewhat more dangerous, even savage… ‘Doop-A-Go-Go’!!! The compilation gathers together rediscovered gems (by THE TURBANS, THE FIVE KEYS, TINY TOPSY AND THE CHARMS) with hot one-hit wonders (THE CHANTEURS, AVALONS, THE LIDOS, MAD LADS, THE MOON STONES). While some sing their faith (EVELYN FREEMAN), others conjure up less holy desires (THE VISIONS, THE PARAMOURS), but they all stand out for the surprising generosity of their vocals! Get ready to ‘Boom Boom’ to ‘Wop Wop’ and to ‘Ouh Ouuuhhh’!!! A vigorous ‘Come on everybody, yeah, now, yeah yeah…’ gets the compilation going, flowing from one thunderous and bewitching brew to the next…‘Doop-A-Go-Go’!!!

300 copies only. Blood Red Vinyl.

  • Mudd Club - Bottle Blonde (LP)

    25,00

Very limited EU version of The Mudd Club’s debut album, 300 copies only with new artwork (an homage to The Cramps ‘Blues Fix’ EP) and coloured vinyl.

The Mudd Club are a Garage-Punk band consisting of guitarist Sadie Capps, Drummer Julian West and bassist Huw Hickman. Sadie and Julian grew up in landlocked Lawrence, Kansas. They now spend most their time between Bristol in the UK and Wales. They write most of their own material drawing on the best of 50’s, 60’s & 70’s trash & punk although when they do cover a track, it’s guaranteed to be a killer as in the case on this album where they cover the 1962 released ‘Wombat Twist’ originally by Glenn & Christy…..

These kids are top notch and way ahead of what their tender years may imply….A true delinquent teen band (alright, early 20’s).

  • Thee Legendary Hodads - I Was A Teenage Hodad (LP)

    25,00

nother fine platter of Trashtastic sounds from the Trash Wax label…..TWLP069 : 200 gm vinyl, full liner notes with previously unseen photos (and a short missive from the dude behind NBT)…Limited to just 300 copies and comes with a 5 star recommendation.

It’s the mid 80’s and the UK (mainly) is in full on ‘Trash Mode’….The Milkshakes, Gun Club, Sting Rays, Scientists, Cramps et al rule the roost !

And in the West of Scotland (way off the map for the London centric scene) the Rockabilly Psychosis & Garage Disease had touched and anointed a bunch of teens already under the influence of arcane sounds referenced in pulpy ‘zines such as ‘Next Big Thing’ etc. (Lindsay Hutton himself accepts partial responsability and you can read his admission in the liner notes !) Set out to to conquer all with their Milkshakes / Tall Boys / Panther Burns hybrid sounds….Read the rest of the story on the liner notes.

A masterpiece of long lost Trash sounds that has finally been commited to vinyl….Enfin ! Vive Thee (Legendary) Hodads !

Remains - A Session With The Remains (LP)

    22,00

NOW ON LIMITED EDITION TRANSLUCENT GOLD COLORED VINYL!!

Ever wish you could travel back in time and be in the thick of the 1960s rock explosion? Well, until an actual TARDIS is perfected, this album is the next best thing. Recorded in the wee hours of May 26, 1966, A Session with the Remains is a no-holds barred romp through their club set, captured live-to-tape in Capitol Records’ studios. Recorded as an audition for the label, the albums seethes and snarls, twists and shouts, rocks and rolls and generally embodies the force of nature that was the Remains. Performing a mix of originals and current hits, the band is in command at every step, rocking one minute and pausing to kibitz between songs the next. In attempting to describe this album, reviewers have used words like “blazing,” “explosive,” “delirious”…but honestly, none of these descriptions comes close to what is contained in the grooves. It’s like trying to tell a stranger ‘bout rock & roll, ya know? All you really need to do is listen. After all, one guitar lick is worth a thousand words. This BLAZING, EXPLOSIVE, DELIRIOUS album was painstakingly sourced from the one-and-only original two-track analog mono master tape and wrestled onto high-quality vinyl and compact disc for your review. I’d like to thank you on behalf of the group and Sundazed for listening and I hope they pass YOUR audition! Also available on compact disc! ”A religious totem of all that was manic and marvelous about mid-’60s pop” – Rolling Stone Magazine”Blazing through a mix of originals and covers, the Remains explode in a torrent melody, searing guitar leads and furious drumming. This quartet’s ability to play with such delirious abandon yet still nail the tunes’ sharp hooks and abundant vocal harmonies marks it as one of rock’s more talented and incendiary units” – Chicago Tribune

  • Fleshtones - Stocking Stuffer -15th Anniversary (Green) (LP)

    33,00

From the garage rock gods who brought the world ”Super Rock,” Stocking Stuffer is the Christmas album for music fans who hate run-of-the mill Christmas music. The Fleshtones just want to rock and they’re not about to let peace on Earth or goodwill to men get in the way. ”Hooray for Santa Claus” (from the cult classic 1964 b-movie “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians) kicks off the album and ”Champagne Christmas” looks back to The Fleshtones’ classic R&B roots while extolling the virtues of more than a little yuletide bubbly. Stocking Stuffer is festive enough to get you in the holiday mood but rocks hard enough to keep the eggnog flowing through all your rock’n roll sing-a-longs.

The album is being reissued on green color vinyl for its 15th anniversary after being out-of-print since its original 2008 pressing! The album is remastered for vinyl by Mike Westbrook of MW Audio and is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide! (This is a 2023 Black Friday Record Store Day release.)

Syndicate of Sound - Little Girl (LP)

    20,00

”Little Girl,” the Syndicate Of Sound’s swaggering top ten single from the summer of 1966 was a song that defined, if not a generation, at least a genre. We present the world’s first reissue of the original Syndicate album – with four killer non-LP single sides added, unseen photos, new notes culled from interviews with the Syndicate, and more! ”The rockin’est little punkadelic band ever to come out of San Jose, this ’60s quintet is remembered for its sole hit, ’Little Girl.’ But they should have been contenders – all of the tracks here rock like hell.” – Pulse Magazine Also available on compact disc!”.. one of the most solid LPs by a ’60s garage band…” – Ugly Things

We the People - Too Much Noise (Coloured) (LP)

    20,00

Occasionally we have a little extra fun with our vinyl and will spontaneously create a short run of existing records on cool colored vinyl! Garage fans agree: We The People’s raging, tough-as-nails punk tracks “Mirror of Your Mind” and “You Burn Me Up and Down” rate among the era’s best. But believe it or not this band was capable of even more. Along with the above two hammer-down classics, Too Much Noise collates everything the seminal—and surprisingly diverse—Central Florida outfit cut for the Challenge label during the band’s mid-’60s heyday, including the raga-rock fave “In the Past” (covered by the Chocolate Watchband) and the tender folk-rock ballad “(You Are) The Color of Love.” Sourced from the original analog masters, here are We the People’s three scarce and essential Challenge single sides plus material recorded for the label but unreleased at the time—all of it in raw, skull-crushing fidelity on CD and high-definition vinyl. Tracks on this release also appear on the following compilation :Garage Beat ’66 Vol. 6: Speak of the Devil… CD

    Uniques - Uniquely Yours (LP)

    20,00

A decade before he was topping the country charts, Joe Stampley fronted one of the deep south’s most legendary and rockin’ ’60s combos, the Uniques. Once signed to Shreveport, Louisiana-based Paula Records, the Uniques made waves nationally on their very first release, “Not Too Long Ago.” That pop classic (faithfully/recently covered by Nick Lowe) is just one of many highlights of their ’66 debut LP, Uniquely Yours. According to the master tape, this record was originally going to be tagged The Uniques in Action; a shelved album title that could not have been more apt. Finally reissued (and in fabulous mono, to boot), this is southern rock ’n’ soul at its finest; a real mélange of styles that swings wildly from deep-fried garage rock, frenzied frat-beat, infectious Stampley-penned pop, and gorgeously soulful ballads. From Presley and Gene Vincent to any Justice label ’60s garage band worth mentioning, southerners have always littered their LPs with this latter fare. But when it comes to delivering a soulful ballad, Joe Stampley is up there with the very best of ’em. Uniquely Yours includes the group’s all-time biggest regional hit, a cover of Art Neville’s “All These Things” (in its original mix, unadorned by string overdubs) and a “Georgia (On My Mind)” that simply blows away all other white boy soul renditions. But make no mistake, this is a largely uptempo set marked by the ferocious punk pace of “You Ain’t Tuff,” updated rockabilly funkiness of “Fast Way of Living,” blistering guitar workouts like “Strange,” plus some of the best damned covers ever waxed. For a positively unique album experience, Sundazed includes the classy period sleeve design from the original Paula release.

Various - Ain’t It Hard! Garage & Psych from Viva Records (LP)

    20,00

The short-lived Viva Records label was one wildly eclectic outfit. Helmed by hitmaker Snuff Garrett, this Los Angeles-based imprint targeted the teen marketplace with a series of extraordinary garage / psych / pop singles. The label’s command of popular styles prevailed across these Top 40 hopefuls, ranging from the stomping beat of the Shindogs to the psych-fuzz nirvana of the Sound Sandwich. And there’s Class of ’66 garage-grunge from the Wailers and the Second Helping (yes, that’s a teenage Kenny Loggins howling at the moon on the positively snarling Let Me In,” among other selections). With a supporting cast led by Leon Russell and J.J. Cale and bolstered with choice Snuff Garrett Productions like Gypsy Trips and Sunday Servants, Ain’t It Hard! stands as an essential anthology of Sunset Strip sixties sounds!”

Unfiltered North Carolina ‘60s garage rock from Asheville teen stompers The Satyrs!

This LP features previously unissued tracks and their lone 1965 single – all bookended by two savage versions of the title track! “Don’t Be Surprised” and their hyper-rare Wal-Mor 45 gave The Satyrs some serious weight in record collecting circles and among garage rock aficionados. The discovery of their lost studio sessions beefed that weight to a metric-shit-ton! There are anthems here; songs of love and loss, hope and disenchantment.

Trashmen - The Best Of (Colored) (LP)

    25,00

The Trashmen’s defining moment, 1963’s ”Surfin’ Bird,” is perhaps the ultimate lightning-in-a-bottle record. Their first true studio recording, it captures the group’s interminable energy and mastery of live performance. But it also is the culmination of spirit and experiment that turned it into something new and, from the perspective of 50 years, unique.

This collection shows them to be variously a first-rate surf band, a great protopunk outfit, solid rockers with the raw essence of the earliest originators of the sound, and adept enough to work in some comedy and country. This scope of ability and interest is probably the true basis of the band’s following now. But ”Surfin’ Bird” has more tenacity than other bands’ entire better-performing catalogs, and with it, the Trashmen created a work that is arguably today the most relevant release from that storied decade.
