  • Bland Bobby - Two Steps From The Blues + 2 bonus (180 gram) (LP)

Originally released in 1961, blues singer Bobby Blue” Bland’s legendary Two Steps From The Blues has been repeatedly called ”one of the best blues albums of all time”, and Bland one of the genre’s greatest singers (and top sex symbols in his day), no small feat in a genre so crowded with amazing talent. Throughout 60s and 70s Bland placed over 50 songs on the R&B charts, including ”I Pity The Fool”, which shot to No. 1 and ”Turn On Your Love Light”, a song that shaped the history of both R&B and rock & roll. Bland got his start singing in the early fifties as a member of a loosely knit group of musicians that included Junior Parker, Johnny Ace and B.B. King that formed around Memphis’ famed Beale Street. Together these giants forged the new sound of Memphis blues, a sound that would carry both blues and R&B into the next millennium.”

  • Movie - High School Confidental (1958) (Blu-Ray)

Fanning the flames of Eisenhower America’s growing paranoia, Jack Arnold’s HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL! Is the quintessential juvenile delinquency film – celebrating the very sex-drugs-and-rock’n’roll culture it pretends to condemn. Russ Tamblyn (WEST SIDE STORY) stars as Tony Baker, the new kid at Santa Bellow High, whose cocky attitude and ambitious weed-dealing enable him to infiltrate the gang of a local narcotics boss (Jackie Coogan). But HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL! Is much more than a hardboiled crime picture. It’s is a pop-culture touchstone, a Rebel Without a Cause without the angst, embellished by the insanely shapely Mamie Van Doren, beat poetry for the hip set, and, of course, the throbbing theme music of Jerry Lee Lewis.

  • Burnette Johnny - And The Rock`n`Roll Trio LP (180 gram) (LP)

    • One of the first and maybe the greatest rockabilly LP ever!
    • Includes The Train Kept A’Rollin’ – later recorded by the Yardbirds, Aerosmith and many others!
    • Includes many of the greatest guitar solo from the early days of rock ‘n’ roll!

Johnny Burnette died in 1964 after scoring several pop hits in the early Sixties, including Dreamin’, You’re Sixteen, and Little Boy Sad. If, in the days or weeks before his death, he had been asked how he would be remembered, he would probably have said for those hits or for the songs he’d written for Ricky Nelson. And he would have been wrong. Today, Johnny Burnette is chiefly remembered for some sessions he cut in 1956 that resulted in no hits, but just about defined rockabilly as an art-form – in fact as a new musical life-form. This album, one of the first-ever rockabilly LPs, is still the best-ever rockabilly LP. From the early 1960s, collectors were paying big money for it. When musicologists and musicians deconstruct rockabilly and when revivalists reconstruct it, they’re trying to unravel the magic of Johnny Burnette and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Trio. The guitar solo on Train Kept A’Rollin’ alone is one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll guitar solos ever!

The afterlife of this music is astonishing. In 1965, the Yardbirds recorded The Train Kept a’Rollin’, and in 1966, British Decca reissued the original Rock ‘n’ Roll Trio LP. Most of the Trio recordings have been in print since, and the list of covers grows year by year. Aerosmith did The Train Kept A’Rolling, as did Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, and many others. Los Lobos revived Lonesome Tears in My Eyes. You can hear echoes of this LP in every rockabilly and roots revival band, and you can hear their indirect influence in the most unexpected places (John Lennon’s little coda instrumental coda at the end of The Ballad of John and Yoko is adapted from Lonesome Tears in My Eyes).

Now Johnny Burnette And The Rock ’n Roll Trio is back where it always belonged – on shimmering 180g vinyl, newly remastered and sounding better than ever!

  • Presley Elvis - Look Out Jackson Town 3CD Boxset (Käytetty CD)

Welcome to the third CD release by TNT Records. Again with a little help from our friends at “Audionics” – probably THE premium and still active label when it comes to rare recordings in best possible sound – we decided once more to pick this time three shows from “Tour Number 14” (May 30 – June 10, 1975). On this brandnew 3 CD set (Release Date: Early May 2014) you are going to hear the three 1975 concerts Elvis did in Jackson, Mississippi (two shows June 8, one show June 9).

Barely over 200 miles or a 3-hour drive from home – on June 8 and 9, 1975 Elvis had Jackson, Mississippi on his tour schedule to play three concerts in two days at the State Fair Coliseum. Tour Number 14 saw its end coming with just another 4 shows in total to do. From all audible and visual experiences listeners of the Jackson-Shows can have it might only be fair to say that Elvis had quite a lot of fun doing what he loved to do: Just being Elvis Presley, singing “his” songs and entertaining the thousands of people who came to see him live in Concert, paying either the regular ticket price or whatever the many ticket scalpers asked for.

The first of the three shows – the afternoon show from June 8 – has been released exactly a decade ago and was titled “Fly T-R-O-U-B-L-E” – it seemed a perfect title for this release because the minute Elvis entered the stage the whole area around him was swarming with flies. On the recording you can hear several jokes and references to those little beasts throughout some parts of the show! The evening performance of this day brings another perfectly motivated Elvis on stage and he delivers another great mixture of “Oldies but Goldies”, Gospels and contemporary titles such as “An American Trilogy” and “The Wonder Of You”. The concert from June 9 (there was only one show this day) can – again – be called “a great performance”. RCA used “Why Me, Lord” from this show on the 1980 “Silver Box” (called “Elvis Aron Presley” – originally released on vinyl as a 8-LP Box). Another nice detail regarding this show: Elvis performed a spontaneous version of “Help Me Make It Through The Night”, the only time he did this song on the whole tour.

If you have missed the show´s first releases from approximately 10 years ago or if you want to owe them in even better sound than before plus exactly the way they were recorded (without the standard “2001 Theme / See See Rider” opening) you should not miss this great new 3 CD set! You can also expect a great 24-pages booklet full of photos and information including newspaper articles and original paperwork. Ask your local dealer for it, he should have it right in time around the scheduled release date for you!

  • Various - Louisiana Swamp Blues 4CD Boxset (CD)

In Louisiana music is an important part of daily life. And in Arcadiana it’s a compulsion. Often members of a whole family play and are ready to entertain themselves and their neighbours when the mood takes them. It’s got something to do with the ancestors. The first significant arrivals – in 1755 – were French-speaking Acadians, from Nova Scotia who brought their musical traditions with them. Fast forward to the 20th century. The first accordion-based Cajun records were recorded in 1929. Things changed with the advent of amplified instruments. Black bands in Texas added a contemporary edge to the tradition, calling it ’zydeco’. But Louisiana, of course, is famous also for Blues and R&B and no Swamp compilation would be complete if those styles were left out. Here’s a vibrant, living selection of tracks from a state famous for music.
